May 9th will soon be here, after that day, will you still honor your mother? One day is not enough to celebrate the phenomenal woman that she is, everyday should be a day where you honor your parents; the ones who have sacrificed so much.
Today & everyday, I honor my mother-the angel God placed here on earth just for me. I love her beyond what words could define, my admiration and appreciation for her is limitless. I value her now even more, being a mother myself, relating to the sacrifices & unconditional love that mothers have. (One day, we're going to go to a lot and I'll say "You can have whatever you like").
I also honor other women who have played such a major role in my life: My grandmother, she was such a witty, wise, genuine, loving, devoted, and Godly woman. I can't imagine what my life would've been like if she had not been in it. I strive each day to live up to her expectations, even though she is no longer with me. Not to mention, she's the driving force behind my culinary skills and passion.
My God-Mother (Ms. Josie), I couldn't ask for a better God-Mother, every time I think of her, I can't help but smile.
Mrs. Louise Sampson, I'm forever grateful to know such a wonderful woman. Mrs. Louise always has an encouraging word, even if it's as simple as "Look Up," her words mean so much to me, I'll always take them with me. I'm thankful that she prayed for me when I didn't have the strength to pray for myself.
My Aunt Mary, she's the true definition for a Proverbs 31 woman. I thank her for being the perfect example of a wife and woman after God's own heart. She mentored my walk with God, and I will never forget our conversations.
My spiritual mother, Ms. Bernice, truly an Angel! I love her more than she knows, she's another example of what a woman should be and she'll always have a special place in my heart.
My sisters Catrina, Shon, & Courtney; I didn't have the privilege of growing up with biological sisters, but you three fill that spot. I love & admire the three of you more than you know, and I look up to you-you are all beautiful, strong, relentless women & I'm lucky to be apart of your family. Trina, I admire your strength, your sensitivity, your courage, and your forgiving heart.
My cousin Dorothy-you're always in my prayers, I love her dearly, I'm forever indebted to her for the things that she has done.
To all of the women that have inspired me and influenced me to keep going, I thank you!
My fourth grade teacher Mrs. Robinson, all of my aunts, cousins & friends, I honor you, I appreciate you, and I hope that you have a wonderful day on Sunday & many more to come. To all of the mothers-enjoy your day & kick back. You are all great mothers and women. For those who have mothers who are no longer with you, cherish & learn from each memory, honor her with what she has given you & pass it on.
